Colton’s Friends, a Designated Fund of the UMC Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Organization, is a special fund specifically organized to provide immediate, site based financial assistance to any child, and his/her family who has suffered a traumatic brain injury. Such injuries may result from auto accidents, falls, stroke or related activities.

Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) often result in cerebral palsy, blindness and feeding disorders, along with a need for specialized medical care, equipment and therapies needed to care for these children.

While tragic, Colton’s and Chris’s experiences clearly demonstrated the serious needs that TBI children and their families have during hospitalization and immediately afterward. Items such as cash, car seats, feeding supplies, formula, gas, housing and even food can assist parents & siblings in coping and adjusting to what will certainly be a new and difficult, but ultimately rewarding life.

Chris Rutter (Colton’s Father) is available any time to talk with families of injured children, as well as speak to individuals or groups about the experiences he shared with Colton. For more information about how monetary donations or supplies can help, please call (520) 471-2957.
